Nonantola is a municipality in the province of Modena, located in the Po Valley of Emilia-Romagna. The city is famous for the Nonantola Abbey, an important center of culture and spirituality founded in the 7th century.

Among the surroundings of Nonantola is the historic Villa Emma, a residence located in Fanano, which was used during World War II as a refuge for Jewish children. Today, the villa has become a museum where visitors can learn about the history of the villa and its inhabitants, as well as discover the testimonies and stories of those children who were protected and hidden in this place.



Furthermore, the area of Nonantola is known for its cuisine, which offers delicacies such as Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Parma ham, Culatello di Zibello, and traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena.
